    Is it really free?
    Yes. Checking your bill is free, and you don't need an account to see your result.
    How do you make money if you take no commissions?
    We're independent and take nothing from energy retailers, ever, and the bill check is free. Down the track we may add optional premium features for people who want ongoing monitoring, but the honest check stays free.
    Do you sell or share my data?
    No. We keep only the usage and rate figures needed to run the comparison, and discard everything that identifies you: name, address, account number and payment details. You can also have the bill image deleted after the check.
    Will you push me to switch if I'm already on a good plan?
    No. Because we earn no commission on switches, we have no reason to move you. If your current plan is already competitive, Bill Scout will tell you to stay put.
    Which retailers and plans do you compare?
    We compare publicly listed plans from retailers across NSW, VIC, QLD and SA, sourced directly from the Energy Made Easy consumer data right (CDR) feed. Coverage varies by state; if no matching plans are found for your address, we'll say so rather than show you incomplete results.
